LOSE YOU

In 2008, Peaches took part in the X Wohnungen performance series initiated by theatre director Matthias Lilienthal, at that time artistic director of Berlin’s HAU theatres. The X Wohnungen site-specific format brings 2-person audiences into private apartments spread throughout a city for performances of up to ten minutes in duration.

For Peaches’ performance, she developed a mini musical that could be recreated and repeated every five minutes. The Lose You performance centred around the then new and as yet unreleased song of the same name, which tells the story of being in love with, and having to choose between two lovers – for the X Wohnungen performances these became the two audience members attending any given performance.

Over four days, Peaches ploughed into the performance 175 times.
Documentation of those performances would later become the music video for the song Lose You when it was released on the I Feel Cream album.
